GRAND OLE OPRY TO HONOR MILITARY FAMILIES WITH ANNUAL SALUTE THE TROOPS SHOW, RED CARPET ARRIVALS MAY 22
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (May 2, 2018) – The show that made country music famous is scheduled to salute the families of enlisted soldiers with a red carpet parade and two special Salute the Troops Opry performances Tuesday, May 22. The public is invited to be a part of the honored families’ red carpet arrivals outside the Opry House beginning at 5:45 p.m., and the evening’s Opry performances begin at 7:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Among the artists scheduled to perform are Trace Adkins, Lee Greenwood, Craig Morgan, Kellie Pickler, and Darius Rucker. Tickets for the evening’s first show are on sale now, and tickets for the second show will go on sale at 10 a.m. Thurs., May 3. The Opry, the Tennessee National Guard Family Programs organization, and the USO will invite men and women of the U.S. military as well as spouses, children, and parents of soldiers serving overseas to walk a red carpet into the Opry House for the evening’s shows saluting the troops and the families they leave at home to serve the United States. “We owe so much to our veterans and to the families of our veterans,” said Morgan, a U.S. Army veteran and Grand Ole Opry member. “We are all truly grateful for the sacrifices they make for our nation. My fellow artists and I are very excited to head to the Opry that night, shake as many family members’ hands as we can, say thank you, and offer some of our songs in salute.” Tickets for both shows will be available at 615-871-OPRY and opry.com.
